being sleepy and being drunk are sort of similar, i like both but prefer the latter

mostly because being drunk is more intense, and usually implies a better environment (a party hopefully) while the tiredness i feel now is the result of putting off a research paper.

i keep listening to this song “racing in the street” by bruce springsteen. it is tight as fuck. so is the song “candy’s room”. AND “JUNGLELAND”

Day 4 is a Bruce song that cheers you up.

Haha I feel like I could use Born To Run for all of these, but I won’t!

I think I’m going to have to go with “Thunder Road” for this one. Mostly the line “Roll down the window and let the wind blow back your hair”, although the entire latter half of the song is really happy and about doing something to have a good time.

I’ve decided to write one of those totally arbitrary text posts that I used to do a lot more often, or, at least, in higher proportion to my overall posts. Lately it seems I’ve just been reblogging pictures (cough gifs cough) that I like, so I figure I’ll throw this in.

What’s new? Nothing really, I guess. I’m listening to “In Utero” by Nirvana right now. That’s a really solid album. We just got a PS3 yesterday.

OH BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN. I’m obsessed with the Boss right now. You probably realize that from my other posts, though.

That basically sums up how I feel right now. Everyone else seems to be really happy with whatever they’re doing. Me, it’s like even the situations in which I’m supposed to be really enjoying myself and happy, it seems like I’m still just there. I mean, those situations are better than the boredom I have otherwise, but I never feel that happy, really. The last time I felt happy was… on Friday, I guess, after talking to Amanda, just because it was ballsy and ultimately really rewarding. Before that was probably getting drunk at Rachel’s house. Alcohol is fun. Rather, it enhances otherwise enjoyable situations by loosening people up. I want to do something like that again.

I’ve been listening to CD’s a lot more lately, as opposed to my iPod. I just really prefer using the high quality stereo. I would be listening to vinyl a lot as well, but my sister decided to go ahead and break our record player.

Yeah, that’s another thing. My sister has been worse than normal, lately. Whenever something doesn’t go her way, she starts whining and bitching and screaming. It’s awful. Like the other day I legitimately had thoughts of plunging a kitchen knife through her heart. It’s fucked up, but it’s how I felt. She needs to be fixed, and unfortunately my parents are completely useless for dealing with her. Sigh…

I have a huge page in the yearbook, that’s pretty cool.

I just realized I’m only writing this for myself. I really doubt anyone reads these long ass posts I write. Oh well. That being said, I don’t feel like writing anymore. Peace out, y’all.

Alright, Day 3 is a Bruce song that makes you sad.

Obviously, “The River” takes the cake. I mean, it’s depressing not only because the events that take place are sad, but because they’re probably going to happen to you and me. I mean, the story of heartbreak is usually going to be relevant and it sucks, but what he describes here is something that happens to most people and doesn’t ever end. That’s why this song is so sad. This is easily one of the most emotional songs I’ve ever heard.

Day 2 is supposed to be my favorite Bruce Springsteen lyric… this is a tougher one. I hate to do this again but… my favorite lyric is from “Born to Run”. :P

“Baby this town rips the bones from your back
It’s a death trap, it’s a suicide rap

‘Cause tramps like us, baby we were born to run”

These lyrics just blow my mind. Well, they don’t blow my mind, they just… they’re spot on, you know? I mean, he totally gets what it is to live and love. I want to do that stuff.

The runner-up lyric is from “The River”. “Is a dream a lie if it don’t come true, or is it something worse?” This lyric does blow my mind, because it’s talking about the possibility of the hopes in “Born To Run” becoming an utter failure. Very depressing and poignant.

Yup, that’s it for today, tomorrow is a Bruce song that makes me sad… wonder what that could be :P
